Minjoo Kim

Minjoo Kim was born and raised in South Korea. She received her BA in Psychological Science and Theater from Colgate University and her MA in Theater and Performance Studies from Washington University in St. Louis. As a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship recipient, she traveled to Singapore, Japan, Spain, South Africa, Mexico, and Hong Kong and studied how the state and communities use performances to negotiate the complexities of national identity. Her research interests include tourism (especially dark tourism), memory, site-specific performances, and Korean culture and heritage. Outside of work and school, she enjoys traveling, dancing, reading, crocheting/knitting, and daydreaming.
